Served as Deputy Consul General at Consulate General of Pakistan – Los Angeles, USA (June 2006 to October 2009)
Served as Deputy Chief of Mission/Counsellor, Embassy of Pakistan – Muscat, Oman (October 2009 to December 2013)
Served as Head of Mission/Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Pakistan – Niamey, Niger (August 2015 to December 2019)

Attended 11th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit, held at Kathmandu, Nepal from January 2-6, 2002.
Part of Pakistan’s Official Delegation at 5th Developing-8 Summit in Bali Indonesia in May 2005, which was attended by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Part of Pakistan’s Ministerial Delegation to negotiate Non-Agricultural Market Access Agreement under WTO in November 2005.
Attended WTO Ministerial Conference held at Islamabad in December 2005.
Part of Pakistan’s Official Delegation at World Economic Forum Meeting, held at Davos, Switzerland in January 2006, which was attended by the then President of Pakistan.
Part of Pakistan’s Official Delegation to attend 61st United Nations General Assembly Session, held at New York in September 2006.
Participated in 4th South Asia Security Conference, organized by International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in partnership with the Near East & South Asia Centre for Strategic Studies (NESA), held at Muscat – Oman in December 2010.
Participated in 6th IISS-NESA South Asia Security Conference held at Muscat – Oman from November 30 to December 2, 2012.
Attended a course on Security Cooperation, organized by Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies at Honolulu, Hawaii, USA from September – October 2017.
Speaker at Organization of Islamic Cooperation Diplomatic Course in December 2018 at Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Speaker at UNODC Conference in August 2019 at Beirut, Lebanon.

Conferment of Civil Awards:
Ambassador Wagan was nominated for ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz of Pakistan’ (Star of Distinction), being second highest National Award, for his meritorious service to the Nation in 2017.
Ambassador Wagan, in recognition with his outstanding role played for promotion of bilateral relations in various fields between Pakistan and Niger, was awarded the highest Civil Award i.e. ‘Order of Merit’ on December 10, 2019 by the Government of Niger.

Extra-Curricular Activities:
Reading, Travelling, Running, Playing Tennis & Badminton.

H.E. Mr. Wagan has deep interest in trekking and mountaineering. He has successfully climbed/trekked:

o Trekked to K-2 (second highest mountain in World), Base camp in 1998 having an altitude of 17,700 fee (5,400 meters)
Trekked to Everest (highest mountain in World), Base camp in April 2004 having an altitude of 18,500 feet (5,643 meters)
Trekked to Mount Blanc (11th highest mountain in World) in July 2005 having an altitude of 15,700 feet (4,808 meters)
Trekked to Mount Whitney (tallest mountain in Continental US) having an altitude of 14,500 feet (4,421 meters)
Trekked to Mount Kilimanjaro (tallest mountain in Africa) having an altitude of 19,500 feet (5,895 meters)

Marital Status:
He is married with four children.
