IMRAN AHMED SIDDIQUI

Mr. Imran Ahmed Siddiqui has served as Desk Officer (China), Director (United
Nations) and Director (Human Rights and United Nations Security Council) at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Joint Secretary to the National Security Adviser, at
National Security Division.
A graduate of Harvard Kennedy School, Mr. Siddiqui also served as Pakistan’s
expert at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, New York and
later as Deputy Permanent Representative to the Jeddah based Organization of
Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as well as the Deputy Consul General at the Consulate
General of Pakistan, Jeddah.
Mr. Siddiqui has attended several sessions of the UN General Assembly, UN
Security Council, Human Rights Council and High-Level meetings of the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as well as Non-Aligned Movement
(NAM) in various capacities. He joined the Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto
on 21 July 2016 as Consul General.
Mr. Siddiqui launched Canada Pakistan Research & Development Council
(CPRDC) in collaboration with Pakistan origin Canadian scientists in 2017. Under
his guidance, the Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto and CPRDC are, inter alia,
engaged in promoting linkages between Pakistani and Canadian academic and
research institutions.
