Press Release - Youm-e-Istehsal - 5 August 2021

Date : 05-08-2021

To mark Youm-e-Istehsaal - 05 August, 2021, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Netherlands organized different engagements. It included a Pictorial Exhibition in the Consular Hall of the Embassy and a discussion webinar on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

The Pictorial Exhibition which is open for public from 04 – 06, August 2021 is showcasing images of ongoing human rights violations and atrocities being committed by India in IIOJ&K.

The speakers at the webinar included a noted lawyer, academic and activist. Advocate Hans Gaasbeek of the Netherlands has a distinguished track-record for raising human rights violations especially in IIOJ&K. Mr. Ali Raza Syed is the President of ‘Kashmir Peace Forum’ and Prof. Muhammad Aslam Syed is a known academic and public intellectual.

The webinar was virtually attended by more than 40 participants including academics, universities students and community members. The speakers were of the opinion that since illegal and unilateral actions of 05 August, 2019 the humanitarian and human rights situation in IIOJ&K has further deteriorated. Fundamental rights of Kashmiri people in IIOJ&K have been further stifled.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Suljuk Mustansar Tarar stated that the Indian government was bringing about demographic changes in IIOJ&K through dubious means and that the Indian government should be held accountable by the world for all their illegal actions. He reiterated Pakistan’s abiding commitment to the Kashmiri people and the Kashmiri cause.
